Rice Lake provides North Vancouver residents with a variety of recreational opportunities, and one of these will be the focus of an upcoming family community event.
The venue will be playing host to Family Fishing Day, which is on offer thanks to assistance from the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC as well as Metro Vancouver. It will provide an introduction to the sport of fishing, and there will be lots of hands on fun to be had.
Along with the chance to try catching some rainbow trout, there will be an assortment of exhibits that provide a sneak peek into the life cycle of fish and other aquatic species. Various community groups have been invited to participate, and the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve will have an open house booth on site. Gear and bait will be provided, and as there will be food trucks rolling in, everyone can enjoy lunch or a snack and also a cold drink.
This activity will be on offer on Father's Day, and local families are encouraged to treat dad by bringing him out. Banner printing services can help a function to feel complete, and they will be available at area Print shops.
Family Fishing Day will be bringing fishy fun to Rice Lake on June 16th. It will kick off at 10:00 am at 4900 Lillooet Road, and continue on until 3:00 pm.
