The Shipyards Christmas Special is taking place early next month in North Vancouver. The festival promises to offer a wide variety of activities that should appeal to the entire family.
For those who have not finished their holiday shopping yet, there will be an artisan market set up at the Pipe Shop. Local artists will be on hand to sell a variety of handmade and original items suitable for gift giving.
There will be free hot chocolate, coffee, and tea as well as free cotton candy and popcorn to the first 500 people. Activities are set to include ornament and lantern making workshops and gingerbread decorating. For the children, there will be balloon creations and face painting. Also, a giant Sky Wheel will be set up on the pier.
Entertainment will be provided by the Beauty Shop Dolls, the Windsor Senior Chamber Choir, and the Seymour Dance School. The Burrard Yacht Club will also have a sail-by.
The official Christmas tree lighting will be hosted at 5:00 PM by Mayor Mussatto. Afterwards, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be on hand to pose for pictures.
To help advertise special events such as this, North Vancouver Stationery printing firms often provide marketing materials that can be easily distributed in the community.
The Shipyards Christmas Festival will be held on December 2 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Admission is free, although donations are appreciated. Visit the City of Vancouver website for more detailed information.
