Tourism Langley to switch offices soon

The Tourism Langley board is looking for a less expensive local home, according to its Board of Directors. Currently calling the Langley Events Centre Home, John Aldag of the Board has recently announced that a visitor’s centre committee is being asked to review the tourist board’s tenure there.

With rent costs running at $80,000 at the Langley Events Centre, it remains doubtful that the tourist board will stay and the committee is currently looking for a new location. Future location will be an important consideration, in an accessible area central to local tourists and residents alike.

The Board notes that Langley once had a tourist centre close to a freeway, which was not ideal since tourists would stop and ask for directions but little else. A local place, as convenient and as central as the Langley Events Centre would be ideal.

The site of itineraries, attractions and local events, Tourism Langley is an essential resource for trip planning and provides a wealth of information both for visitors and prospective businesses and residents. The site is a resource for information about the rich heritage and history of the town and its sites.

The comprehensive Langley Visitor’s Guide is one example of a brochure printing available at the centre. The centre is part of Tourism BC’s Foundation Program, which provides resources to assist communities in developing tourist plans. The focus of Langley Tourism is on generating extensive stays, more visitation and increased daily expenditures for businesses through marketing local attractions.
