Balanced budgets and spending cutbacks are buzzwords in all levels of government these days. The future privatization of public assets is a topic that touches residents of any community and receive a lot of future press and attention in the city of Langley.
A discussion over the turning of public assets- like roads, public transit, schools and drinking water to private corporations took place recently, on Sunday January 22nd at Walnut Grove Community Centre in Langley.
The public discussion, an event sponsored and run by the NDP political party, provided a public forum for debate and discussion of the advantages and disadvantages of p=turning public assets and services to privately run companies.
The topic continues to be a hot political issue and will likely be the subject of a recent referendum and media campaign, includes flyer and poster printings.
