Pacific Coast barbecuers show off their stuff at annual show

The 32nd annual Canadian Festival of Chili and BBQ is coming to Langley for two days next month.

A fundraiser for the BC Professional Fire Fighters' Burn Fund, the festival is set to feature a weekend of food and stiff competition between various teams. More than $15,000’s worth of cash prizes is available to be won. Each competition has a different entry fee, but anyone can enter.

Guests will receive a bowl of Firehouse Chili on the first day of the festival, along with a sampling wristband. On the second day, they will receive a pulled pork sandwich and a wristband. The suggested donation for each day is $5.

Among the competitions taking place over the two-day festival are the Canadian CASI Chili Championships, the Chef's Challenge and the SCA Canadian Steak Championships. The winners of the various competitions will quality for US contests such as the American Royal in Kansas City.

In addition to barbecue sampling, there will also be food trucks and beer vendors in attendance.
