Local quilters showcase their art in upcoming show

‘The Threads that Bind Us’ Quilt Show is taking place over two days this May. It is a presentation of the Langley Quilters' Guild.

This bi-annual event is expected to feature over 250 quilts of all kinds. There will be a quilt raffle, a tea room, a gift shop, and a merchant mall. Members of the Guild will also be competing in a challenge, which has the theme of "Who (K)new". Participants must create a 14-inch square quilt using only recycled or used materials; no new pieces are allowed in the creation.

Many members' quilts will also be on display during the show, as well as a ‘fiberscapes’ exhibit from the Fibre Art Network (FAN). The merchant mall is expected to sell such items as fabric scraps, threads, needles and frames. It is likely that visitors will have a chance to talk to several quilters, and get some advice for their own creations.

No doubt many quilting fans from Langley will want to attend this show. Local Print companies often help in the advertising of such shows by providing Posters and Flyers, which are then distributed throughout the community.

The Quilt Show will be held at the George Preston Recreation Centre from May 9th to 10th from 10:00am - 5:00pm each day. Admission is $5. For more information, visit the Langley Quilters' Guild website.
