Local food takes center stage at two Langley events

There is a real movement towards the promotion of local food in today’s world, and the Langley area has two upcoming events in August which follow that lead.

The first event is Come Forage 2014. This is the second year of this event, and it is set to feature the cooking of Chef Chris Whittaker. Guests will help to forage for their own dinner ingredients and get to tour Fraser Common Farm. Later, there will be a cocktail reception featuring musical guests and dinner will be served in a field on a long table.

The next week, the Langley Eats Local Festival, which is hosted by the Langley Environmental Partners Society, will feature farmers, artisans, and processors from the lower mainland and the Fraser Valley. It is also a celebration of urban agriculture. Visitors will have the chance to sample a variety of foods and beverages. They will also be able to purchase local wine, honey, baked goods, and berries.

Langley Print companies may be asked to help with these events by providing tickets or Banners to highlight various booths.
