Langley Tourism receives accolades

Tourism Langley, the association responsible for drawing visitors to the community and region, ended September by being awarded an important accreditation by the Destination Accreditation Program, reflecting a strong commitment to offering important programs and services for potential visitors to the Langley area and the province of British Columbia.

Langley Tourism is now recognized as a highly-accredited destination marketing organization (DMO) by reaching international benchmarks and standards in the field. Langley potential visitors and members of the community can feel reassured that DMOs will promote the local Langley community through its local visitor office and printed publications available to tourists there.

The new accreditation may provide lots of additional printing opportunities that help promote Tourism Langley. Flyer printing about heritage programs, agritourism opportunities, and Calendars of activities help promote programs to local tourists and may be in much more demand as a result of the recent DMO accreditation.

Tourism Langley’s visitors’ center provides a variety of printed paraphernalia to guests, including travel brochure printing, road maps, upcoming events, and recommended sample itineraries by local residents. The center was created in 2006 and is a joint tourism planning initiative between the City of Langley and the Township of Langley.

As a not-for-profit society, Tourism Langley is governed by an independent Board of Directors involved in the local tourism industry. Its printed publications have helped make Langley become one of the most sought after destinations in the BC Fraser Valley, especially for agritourism. Tourism Langley regularly releases printed news, web updates, and press releases.
