The first week of May has been designated as international youth week and the city of Langley will be hosting free events across the seven days.
The Youth Art Show will take place at the Langley Arts Council Building on the evening of May 1. Young people from the area have been submitting work for the event. The Timms Community Centre will then be hosting the Youth Council versus City Council Cook Of. A late night skate party is also planned for May 3 at the Twin Rinks Arena; this will take place in the evening.
The Douglas Park Recreation Centre will be holding a multi-sports tournament in the afternoon of May 4. On May 5, young people can participate in the Langley Walk at Douglas Park in the afternoon.
On May 6, the Youth Talent Showcase will take place at the Langley Arts Council Building. Lastly, there will be a bowling party at Willowbrook Lanes on the final evening. There should be something among these events that will appeal to most young people in the city.
Organizers of the various events throughout Langley will likely be working with local printing companies to help with advertising. Flyers and Banners, for example, can be used to raise awareness of the event.
