A site in Langley has come to be an important haven for both waterfowl and other birds, and this fall, both young and older birders will be paying the site a visit.
A birdwatching tour of Brydon Lagoon is currently being organized for this fall, and it will be hosted by the Explore Nature Club. Children and adults alike are welcome to attend, and both single person and family tickets are available.
The tour, which will run for approximately one hour and 15 minutes, will be led by a trained guide, and the route is even and suitable for strollers, wheelchairs and other mobility aids. Attendees can count on spotting a variety of species that will be passing through on their fall migration, and with some luck and a good pair of binoculars, they may even be lucky enough to spot a “lifer” , which they can then add to their own personal bird checklist.
An organized nature outing like this can often be made even more fun by supplying each participant with a basic field guide to help them identify what they see. These are one of the items that can be prepared by area Stationery printers.
The Bird Tour of Brydon Lagoon has been scheduled for October 1st. The registrants will meet up at the 53 Avenue entrance to the site at 9:30 am.
