Compass Cohousing is holding an meeting for those interested in learning more about cohousing. This will also be an opportunity to meet people from Compass Cohousing.
Cohousing is a form of collaborative housing, consisting of resident-planned and run developments of private homes, condos, apartments or duplexes that have large, shared community spaces and amenities, shared responsibilities, and a commitment to consensual group governance.
The idea of cohousing came about after it became apparent that many modern living arrangements created a noticeable loss of community and neighborly support that traditional suburban neighborhoods and single-family homes on a city street had once provided. People were living closer together spatially, but further apart socially.
Compass Cohousing received incorporation from British Columbia to develop cohousing projects in the province. Upon completion of these communities, Compass takes on the role of a strata.
At meetings like this, there can be a lot of information to take on board. Flyer or brochure printing can be a great way to help people visually digest this, and to take away with them.
