Words in the Park spells it out in Sherwood Park

The ‘Words in the Park’ book sale and fair will take place at the Strathcona County Community Centre this weekend. This is a free event presented by the Strathcona County Library and the Writers Foundation of Strathcona County.

The event will feature meetings with authors, book-signings, coffee and, of course, plenty of Books for sale. Words in the Park is taking place at the same time as LitFest: Edmonton's nonfiction festival, some of the events which will be taking at the Strathcona County Library on the same day, October 27. Related events will be a reading and talk from Jennifer Cockrall-King from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm and author Jerry Haigh will be reading from his works from 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm. Tickets for each of these readings is $10 for adults or $5 for students. Dianne Warren will also be speaking for free as part of the Authors in the House series from 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm.

This event will be perfect for those in the community who are interested in literature and will be a great place to pick up some new Books. Authors from Sherwood Park, Strathcona County and Northern Alberta are eligible to sell their Books at Words in the Park. Rental of a half-table costs $15.

Organizers of Words in the Park are likely to be working alongside Sherwood Park printing companies to prepare for the event. Banner printing and poster printing services will help let the community know about the upcoming festival. For more information on Saturday’s event, call 780-410-8600.
