Stoney Creek ladies to have fun and fight back

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month in Canada, which means that the Canadian Cancer Society Hamilton Wentworth Unit’s ‘Hope and the City’ will make a return.

The fundraising event this year will involve many Hamilton and Stoney Creek ladies, who celebrate the beauty of being a women while also generating important funds to help support women’s cancer research.

The October event at Baranga’s on the Beach will be a women’s night out, beginning with the glamour of being ushered down the red carpet by Hamilton and Stoney Creek firefighters and paparazzi, continuing with the ‘Hope and the City’ drink service and ending with pulsing beats and a live belly dancer.

Fun prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed and best shoes and lots of other exciting games will be on tap. A selection of local vendors will also be on site for those who cannot get enough shopping. Guests who purchased the $75 tickets will also be entered for a chance to win the Ultimate Chef Experience, hosted by Baranga’s owner and executive chef.

Events like this one that aim to raise awareness and funds can get a promotional boost from the printing services of local printing companies. Printed advertisements in local newspapers and flyer printing in Hamilton and Stoney Creek mailboxes are excellent ways to publicize fundraisers and help ensure a successful turnout.

Women interested in participating in the ‘Hope and the City’ event can contact the Hamilton-Wentworth Canadian Cancer Society unit for tickets.
