Savour Strathcona 2014 is taking place in Sherwood Park this July, hosted by Strathcona County and Travel Alberta.
The theme of this year's festival is ‘Food vs Art’, and it is set to feature cuisine from local restaurants, caterers, and food trucks. There will also be a market with local artisans who will be selling handmade items, such as paintings, photographs, jewelry, and pottery.
Guests will be able to purchase tickets to try food samples from the various providers. Last year's events featured 26 artists and 15 food vendors, but this number is expected to increase this year.
In addition, the Culture and Heritage Association of Strathcona County will be presenting games and activities suitable for the entire family during the afternoon.
Artisans were able to rent a 10 x 10 foot booth for $10 to showcase their art works. Many of them will likely decide to invest in services such as sign and banner printing from Sherwood Park companies. These products would bring more attention to their booths and might result in an increase in sales or new commissions of work.
Savour Strathcona will be held at the Sherwood Park Community Centre on July 6 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Admission is free. To learn more about the event and about the activities taking place, call 780-410-8585.
