Sherwood Park workshop to share tree planting tips

A Sherwood Park workshop will offer attendees tips and advice for planting trees this April.

When people think of a residential landscape, neatly kept beds and flowers often come to mind. Fruit trees and shrubs can be welcome additions to both residential and commercial properties, and the workshop will help get attendees off to a great start.

Edible gardening offers many benefits, and trees that produce fruit often have attractive flowers, colourful foliage and an interesting winter outline. There are many species that can do well in the local area, and these range from service berries to apples, cherries and these will be discussed during the class.

Participants in the workshop will discover what type of fruiting shrubs and trees will do best in their area, and the importance of microclimates will also be reviewed. Planting, pruning, grafting and special techniques that can make it possible to grow a crop even in a small space are topics that are on the agenda.

Members of the public are invited to reserve their seat in the workshop now, and this requires a $5 deposit. Each attendee will receive a voucher that can be used at Salisbury Greenhouse between May 1st and July 31st, and Stationery printers can prepare these sorts of premiums.

Salisbury Greenhouse will be hosting this learning opportunity for local orders on April 5th. It’s scheduled start time is 3pm.

Potential attendees should check with organizers to see if it is running as planned.
