Each piece of driftwood is unique, and this naturally sourced material will be used as the base for a hands-on crafting project that will be on offer at a Sherwood Park greenhouse.
Salisbury Greenhouse has organized a planting workshop that will teach participants how to prepare a decorative planter using a few basic materials. A deposit of $10 will secure a seat in the class, and this can be put towards the purchase of plants on site on the day of the activity.
The participants will create a planter using driftwood pieces that will be suitable for air plants and other epiphytes, as well as lichens, mosses and succulents. There will be staff on hand to offer advice and assistance, and to help prevent the spread of plant pathogens, outside materials will not be permitted on site. The run time for the session is two hours.
Locally based workshops like this may be effectively promoted using materials sourced from area flyer printing companies. These items can be posted in prominent locations, tucked into Shopping Bags, sent out through the mail and used in other ways as well.
Salisbury Greenhouse has scheduled its Hanging Driftwood Planter activity for March 6th. It will start at 10:00 am, and tickets for the event are on sale now on the greenhouse’s website.
