National Family Week is set to take place across Canada during the second week in October.
This year’s run, which is presented by Family Service Canada, will see a number of activities take place in Sherwood Park, all with the theme of ‘Strong families, strong communities’.
The first event will be the pancake breakfast and harvest fair. Guests will be treated to a free breakfast before partaking in fall-themed games and activities. The next event will be a Caregiver Support Session hosted at Family and Community Services. It will provide information and resources for those who care for elderly or disabled family members.
Other Family Week events confirmed for Sherwood Park include a Jim Gill Family Concert at the Community Centre Agora on October 9 and an information session for ‘New Dads on the Block’ at the Child and Youth Community Center on October 10.
Sherwood Park printing companies are likely to be playing their part by providing the organizers of these events with printed literature to hand out to visitors or Flyers to be used in advertising campaigns.
This year, National Family Week is taking place from October 7-13. The free pancake breakfast and harvest fair will take place at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex on October 6 from 9:00-11:00am. The Caregiver Support Session will be held on October 8 from 1:00-2:00pm. Admission for all of the activities is free. For more information on any of the Family Week happenings, call 780-464-4044.
