When it comes to safety, every community member can play a role, and an activity on the way for Sherwood Park will help point the way.
The parking lot at Salisbury Composite High will soon be transformed into an Emergency Services Public Safety Showcase, and all ages may benefit from taking part. It will be open for three hours, and equipment and personnel will both be on hand.
Those who attend will be able to visit information booths set up by agencies such as Alberta Sheriffs, the Canadian Search Dog Association, the Edmonton Regional Search & Rescue Association and a variety of services provided by Strathcona County. Fish and Wildlife Enforcement Services will also be participating, and everyone can gather information, ask questions and learn more about their community and provincial safety infrastructure. Equipment will be on display, and admission will be free of charge. The venue is accessible to anyone who requires a mobility device, and trained service animals may enter.
Community safety days and other similar activities give the public a chance to learn more about how their hometown operates. Small Promotional Products such as wristbands, stickers, fridge magnets and pin back buttons can all be prepared for an activity like this to distribute as free swag to attendees.
August 1st will see this public Safety Showcase kick off at 11:00 am. The venue for the function is located at 20 Festival Way.
