Sherwood Park is preparing to show its patriotic side when it hosts an event that will wish all of Canada a happy birthday.
The community’s Broadmoor Lake Park will be the headquarters for its Canada Day Festival, and both locals and visitors alike are welcome to attend the celebration. The fun will kick off in the morning and continue on until after dark.
The day will get off to a festive start with a lap swim at 8 am, followed by a pancake breakfast served courtesy of the Canadian Progress Club. This will be joined by a farmers’ market, as well as a free sports zone and commemorative celebration involving local military members. Food may be purchased, and the day will conclude with fire dancing at 10 pm, followed by a fireworks show at 11 pm. There will be many other activities on offer throughout the day, including face painting, a petting zoo, soap stone carving and much more.
Communities that organize large celebrations like this one may find the services of area printers to be especially helpful. They can provide everything from vendor contracts to banner printing to promote the event.
The community of Sherwood Park will be saluting the maple leaf with its Canada Day Festival on July 1st. A full listing of the activities on offer, along with their timings and locations, can be found on the Strathcona Canada website .
