Sherwood Park offers winter walks for seniors

Walking with a group of friends can be a fun and social way for the senior set to get in some exercise, and Sherwood Park is running a series of Winter Walks for these individuals.

The community's older adults are invited to take advantage of its Winter Walk program, and as it will be held indoors at the Ardrossan Recreation Complex, the cold weather and icy sidewalks will not be a problem. Admission is $2.00 each.

The participants will be able to walk on an indoor track at the venue, and they can socialize and make new friends. Coffee will be served to the crowd, and support for the sessions has been provided by Winter Pipeline. The program is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday afternoons, and it runs throughout the winter. Admission is free for Active Pass and Active Pass Plus holders.

Many Canadian communities cope with the cold by hosting special indoor activities during the winter months. A poster printing company can help to keep the public abreast of local activities like this one that may be of interest.

The Winter Walk program for Sherwood Park’s older adults kicked off in November and will run until the end of March. The Strathcona County website provides the most current details about the walks, as well as other recreational opportunities in the local area.
