Sherwood Park Mall supports finding a cure

Everyone is urged to visit the Sherwood Park Mall between October 7 and 12 to support its Coins for Cure event in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Association.

Four pink vending machines will be placed around the mall, and each will contain capsules with a pink ribbon as well as either an instant prize or a scratch and save card for stores located in the mall. People can donate a Toonie or Loonie via the vending machines to receive a capsule and support the fundraising initiative.

The support of graphic design may be enlisted to create Posters and informational pamphlets or Signs so people are aware of the event as well as what they are contributing to with their donations.

Rebecca Quinn, the mall’s marketing manager, said that the mall will be “going pink” on October 10 to show its support for finding a cure for breast cancer during breast cancer month. The event is tied to the mall’s 43rd anniversary as well as Thanksgiving weekend. The hope behind this is that there will be more foot traffic in the mall to help reach its goal of raising $5,000 for the Canadian Breast Cancer Association.

Breast cancer affects many people directly or indirectly. Quinn believes that the event will be a success because of the community-centric approach of Sherwood Park residents.
