Sherwood Park hosts glimpse into waste collection system

Knowing how a community deals with its trash can be an important part of environmental stewardship, and a Sherwood Park activity will provide the chance to learn more.

Dubbed “TRASHfest”, the event will provide a sneak peek into Strathcona County’s waste program and how it operates. It will be on offer at Broadmoor Lake Park, but may be cancelled in case of inclement weather.

Those who attend will get a close up look at the waste collection vehicles so they can learn how they function and how they are used by personnel. There will be interactive fun such as games and information booths set up, and thanks to a partnership with Quantum Lifecycle Partners, everyone can try their hand at smashing some broken electronics before they are sent for recycling. There will be other fun as well, and all ages are welcome.

Open houses and other community events offer an opportunity to learn more about the infrastructure that keeps a community functioning on day to day basis. A brochure printing company can prepare informational publications as well as Promotional Products to hand out to the crowd.

Wednesday, August 20th will see this sneak peek into the community's waste collection system held at Broadmoor Lake Park. It will kick off at 4:00 pm, and more details are on offer on the Strathcona County website.
