The Festival of Trees and the Celebration of Lights Festival are both returning to Sherwood Park this November.
The Festival of Trees is a three-day long event. A number of decorated Christmas trees will be on display for all to enjoy. There is going to be a silent auction for many of the trees, wreaths, and centerpieces. In addition, there will be children's activities such as crafts and tattoos. There will also be a basket raffle.
The Celebration of Lights Festival is an afternoon event for the entire family. There will be cookie decorating, sleigh rides, and a petting zoo. Visitors can also get their faces painted and have the opportunity to meet Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the reindeer. Musical entertainment is set to be provided by acts such as Janelle Boodram, Sarah Menzak, and the Resounding Joy Bell Choir. The event will end with the switching on of the lights outside, hosted by Santa and the Mayor.
These events attract lots of Sherwood Park residents each year. Those who decorated many of the trees may have invested in banner printing and other services to help make them look unique.
The Festival of Trees will be taking place at the Community Centre's Agora from November 14th to 16th, beginning at 10:00am each day. The Celebration of Lights will be held at the Community Centre on November 15th from 1:00pm - 5:00pm.
