Sherwood Park gardeners to enjoy autumn plant swap

One of the jobs that is often on the fall horticultural calendar for Sherwood Park home gardeners is dividing perennials, and the Edmonton Horticultural Society wants to help the resultant new plants find a home.

The group will be hosting its autumn plant exchange, and lots of species and cultivars will be on offer. As they will have been sourced from local gardens, they will be well adapted to area growing conditions, and houseplants will also be available.

Those who would like to get involved in the day can bring along any perennials or houseplants they would like to swap, and even if they do not have any, they will still be able to shop for plants and tools. Many of the items will be available at a discount, and Arnica Wildflowers has already reserved a sales table for the occasion. A hand sanitizer station will be on site, and anyone who would like extra protection is encouraged to wear their gardening gloves if they wish.

Horticultural markets like this often pop up in the spring and fall. Signage, plant tags, Packaging materials, Promotional Products to give to volunteers and other items can all be prepared by a local printer.

The Fall Perennial Exchange is scheduled for September 24th. It will run from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at 10746 178 Street North West.
