Sherwood Park is a community that is proud of its past, and it will be celebrating its Celtic roots during a special summer gathering that offers a taste of the a Scottish highland games event.
The Sherwood Park Highland Gathering is scheduled to go ahead this summer, but some adaptations may be made to ensure everyone can enjoy themselves safely. It will celebrate the area’s Irish and Scottish roots, and there will be plenty of fun for all those in attendance.
The crowd will be able to watch a variety of competitions that are traditionally part of a highland games event, and these include the dramatic caber toss and shotput. There will be food trucks serving up a wide selection of snacks and full meals, and guests can also visit a beer garden for refreshments. Everyone can enjoy the works in the Artist Walk, and a kids zone and family ceilidh, which is a music-filled party, are both on the agenda.
