The Edmonton International New Year’s Eve Gala will take place on December 31 from 7 pm-3 am. It will be held in the Beverly Hills Ballroom at the West Edmonton Mall. Tickets start at $135 per person; the prices will rise the closer it gets to December 31. The event will benefit the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
The New Year’s Gala is a formal black tie event for those over 18. The night will feature cocktails from 7-8 pm, a Dinner of Distinction from 8-9:15 pm, an Open Mike comedy show hosted by Mike Bullard from 9:15-10:15 pm and there will be dancing from 10:15 pm-3 am. Throughout the evening, from 7-11 pm, a silent auction to benefit the Stollery Children’s hospital will be taking place.
The Stollery Children’s Hospital is a very important part of the Alberta health system; it is one of the few children’s hospitals in the country and it provides much needed service not only to Edmonton but to northern Alberta, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, the Yukon and Nunavit. Those in the area, who can attend, including those in Sherwood Park, should try to make their way to this event. It is a relatively inexpensive way to spend New Year’s Eve and it will benefit this important health service. Local banner printing firms will most likely be providing their services to help decorate the venue.
Ringing in the New Year will be easier if you know you are helping children to become healthy again.
