The Centre for Excellence in Print Media is presenting the Print Automation Seminar on June 8, 2011. It will take place at NorQuest College’s Business and Industry Education Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. The seminar is aimed at both students and those working in the printing industry. Its aim is to help those in the business learn to streamline their production by way of automation, to optimize their productivity and to have a faster turnaround of products. The seminar will feature live displays of automated digital and offset production and a plant tour of a local printing company.
The Print Automation Seminar is divided into two sections; one which teaches participants the basics of Print automation and one which provides information about several automated printing machines and their processes. The basic seminar includes such topics as Getting Started: JDF and Print Automation, JDF and XML: Looking inside a JDF File, and JDF Product Certification and What it Means to Printers. The advanced seminar looks at several products from companies such as Xerox, Duplo and Avanti.
