Sherwood Park parents who are interested in finding new ways to relate to their children are invited to come to a seminar that will add another set of skills to their parenting toolkit.
Emotional Coaching is a method that has been developed to help parents guide their children’s emotions and also teach their son or daughter how they can respond to them. According to the event’s organizers, this is a skill that can be put to use throughout a person’s life.
The seminar will give participants an opportunity to learn the different steps that are part of being an effective emotional coach. It is geared towards mothers, fathers and caregivers of kids who are between the ages of two to twelve years. Comb binding can be used to create inexpensively priced handouts and other materials for distribution to those who participate in a seminar such as this.
There is no charge to take part in the workshop, but those who plan on taking part are reminded that childcare will not be available. The location is wheelchair accessible and on a public transit route.
The emotional coaching training session will be held on December 3rd, at the Children and Youth Community centre in Sherwood Park. It will run from 9:00 am until 11:00 am, and further details can be found by visiting the Strathcoma County website’s community events section.
