A workshop is on offer for Sherwood Park residents who have been diagnosed with either pre-diabetes or existing diabetes, and its free to be a part of the session.
Diabetes can be a challenging disease to manage, and arming patients with knowledge can help them to better take charge of their personal health. This three-hour-long event will be jam-packed with information that can be useful to individuals who are living with diabetes or may be in the future. It will be focused on self-care measures and will be led by a PCN registered nurse.
During the event, the group will talk about how physical activity and healthy eating can be important components of a diabetes management program. The facilitator will review a variety of self-care options and practices, and it can also be a chance for diabetics to meet others who are living with the disease.
This learning opportunity will be on offer at 150 Broadway Crescent Suite, and the venue is accessible to those with mobility issues. The organizers of this type of activity can count on their local printing services company to supply them with handouts, Brochures, Promotional Products and any other items they wish to distribute to the attendees.
The Primary Care Network of Sherwood Park Strathcona County has scheduled this workshop for February 11. Anyone who feels it could be helpful to them is encouraged to attend.
