An upcoming event in Sherwood Park will give those who participate a chance to use their green thumb to recreate the land from some well-known J. R. R. Tolkien Books.
Salisbury Greenhouse will be hosting a class to teach those who take part how to build their very own ‘Bag End’ hobbit garden that they can proudly display in their own home. All the supplies, including decorations and a variety of tiny sized plants, will be provided, or people can bring their own from home. The organizers of the event recommend that they be waterproof so they will not be damaged when the plants are watered.
The instruction is provided at no cost, and the only charge will be for any materials that are used. The greenhouse has asked that no outside plants be brought in to the facility. A $10 deposit will be required to hold a space in the class, which will be refunded towards the purchase of any items that are bought for the design. Flyer printing can be used create materials to promote events like this throughout the community and the surrounding area.
The workshop will take place on September 24 at 10:00 am at Salisbury Greenhouse. The facility is located at 52337 Range Road 232 in, Sherwood Park. Further details and a chance to sign up can be found on its Eventbrite page.
