Event showcases amateur artists from across Alberta

The Art Society of Strathcona County is opening its Loft Art Gallery and Gift Shop this July. It is also holding its first exhibit, the Alberta Wide Art Show, which will be on display at the gallery until August.

Those works featured in the exhibit are winning pieces by amateur artists from various Alberta Zone contests hosted by the Alberta Community Art Clubs Association. The art showcased here is from the Northern and Central Zones, and all of the displayed items are also available to be purchased.

An opening wine and cheese gala is taking place this July, and an awards ceremony will take place on the closing night of the exhibit.

Sherwood Park postcard printing companies may be approached to provide products to be mailed out to interested residents. These cards could show an example of the works on display, while providing exhibit information on the back.

The Alberta Wide Art Show will be held at the A.J. Ottewell Community Center from July 19th until August 16th. Admission is free. The gallery is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00am - 6:00pm. The opening reception will take place on July 26th from 7:00pm - 10:00pm, and the awards ceremony will be held on August 15th at 9:30pm.
