Event hopes to raise funds to help children with cancer

The Event Squad and Bride on a Budget are hosting a winter carnival this January in Sherwood Park, which also aims to raise funds for the Kids with Cancer Society

The event will feature a food fair, carnival games, a magician, raffles, caricature artists and much more. It should be a fun way to get some escape from the cold winter weather while raising funds to help children; there should be something taking place that will appeal to people of all ages.

Proceeds raised from the carnival will go towards the Pay for Parking campaign to provide free parking for parents of children undergoing cancer treatments at Cross Cancer and the University of Alberta Hospital. Parking rates can definitely add up for those who make frequent visits to area hospitals.

It's likely that organizers of the event may decide to work with Sherwood Park poster printing shops to help advertise it throughout the community. They can produce items such as Flyers which can then be distributed to many people in a short period of time for very little extra expense; they can be sent out through the mail, inserted in local newspapers or even handed out on street corners.

The Winter Carnival is taking place at the A.J. Ottwell Hall on January 19 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM. Admission is $10 per person or $25 for a family of four. To find out more about the event contact either Jessica Coutts or Victoria McNabb at 780-570-5684.
