Economic prospects look great for the Alberta Heartland

According to the Alberta Industrial Heartland Association, the future looks rosy for Alberta's energy industry.

While speaking at a Sherwood Park and District Chamber of Commerce luncheon in December, the Association’s Neil Shelly mentioned that there are $20 billion worth of projects which will come to fruition in the next five years. These include various projects in the natural gas, shale gas, ethane and oil industies.

Canexus, for example, is planning a $125 million expansion of its terminal, which is connected to the Energy Stonefell terminal in Strathcona County. Also, the construction of the North West Red Water bitumen refinery is expected to begin in spring and is scheduled to open in 2016; the government of Alberta has invested a lot of money in the project but expects to reap huge profits once it is operational.

Shelly went on to say that the new projects should attract a lot of new business to Alberta. However, these businesses will still have to compete with international companies which wish to exploit the area.

This is good news for Alberta businesses which are involved in the energy industry or those supplying goods to those that are. Many Sherwood Park business owners might want to promote their business. One way they can achieve this is by working with brochure printers to create literature that can be sent out to potential clients and customers. A brochure can highlight exactly what the businesses can offer to potential partner companies.
