Lisa Tordoff of Big Brothers and Big Sisters said:
“The proceeds from this fundraiser really go to nearly half of the operating budget of Big Brothers and Big Sisters. When we talk about the organization, it is a volunteer-driven organization. We are not paying people to be mentors. What we do though, is ensure the mentors we find for children in our programs are professionally screened, trained and supported so they have the utmost chance of being successful in the mentoring relationship.”
The charity will have used a printing company local to Sherwood Park to Print Posters and other advertising materials. This would make great sense, as not only would they be supporting local business, but overheads such as shipping costs would be kept to a minimum.
