Festivals of trees seem to have gained popularity in North America. Communities throughout the continent offer a display of beautifully decorated trees that are then usually offered for sale to interested buyers. These events help to raise money for worthwhile charities while offering those who purchase an often professionally-designed and decorated tree. Sherwood Park will be holding its own Festival of Trees at the end of November.
More than likely organizers of the Festival of Trees will be working with Sherwood Park printing companies to prepare for this popular event. Banners hung throughout the community center could help define certain areas or be used to recognize local companies who have sponsored the event.
A silent auction will be selling the decorated trees, while wreaths, centerpieces, and themed baskets will also be auctioned off. In addition, there will be an entertainment stage, face painting, a free craft center, temporary tattoos, free popcorn, and a marketplace. Mugsy the Magician will also be making an appearance.
Visitors do not have to bid on any items but can just enjoy looking at the trees. The marketplace will be offering items for sale such as chocolate, jewelry, clothing, glass artwork, and Mary Kay cosmetics. It might be a good opportunity for guests to finish off their holiday shopping.
The Festival of Trees will take place at the Strathcona County Community Centre from November 23 - 25. Tickets are $2 or free for those aged under four. Proceeds go to benefit the Information and Volunteer Centre. For more information, call 780-464-4242.Get a Free Quote for Banners
