The 2012 Mayor's Celebration of the Arts will take place at The Agora in the Strathcona County Community Centre on June 16 from 6:30 - 11:30 pm. Tickets are $75 and include two glasses of wine. All proceeds go towards supporting educational programs and Alberta Arts Day activities.
The celebration will feature a Strathcona County talent showcase, the Terrell Edwards Band, the teen band Psychic City, and a full cash bar. In addition to workshops and arts demonstration, there will be a live auction of three pieces of art, with local artists also selling their works. Furthermore, the 2012 Arts Appreciation Award of the Arts and Culture Council of Strathcona County will be handed out during this event; the award honors a company or citizen who has shown leadership in the promotion of art and culture in Strathcona County.
The event is an excellent opportunity for artists throughout Strathcona, since it takes place in their backyard.
