The Active Living Conference is taking place in Sherwood Park this April; it is aimed at those who are 55 and over.
The conference, which is presented by Strathcona County Family and Community Services, will feature keynote speaker Iris Evans, continental breakfast, a hot buffet lunch, door prizes and 42 educational seminars presented in three sessions.
At the end of the day, there will be a prize drawing for a spa vacation package. Those attending will be able to choose three seminars to attend. Topics will include ‘Taking great photos’, ‘Tips for safe driving’, ‘Aromatherapy: just for the health of it’, ‘Tennis for all ages’, ‘Watercolour painting’ and ‘Zumba’. There is bound to be one or more seminars that appeal to each person who plans to attend.
There will also be display tables manned by various health and aging-related organizations which will probably provide reading material for those who are interested. For this material, the organizations are likely to work with Sherwood Park brochure printers.
Brochures can be produced inexpensively and can provide necessary information about an organization to the general public in a compact format. Those Brochures are also taken home and passed onto other people to read, ensuring more exposure for the organization and wider dissemination of information to those who need it.
The third annual Active Living Conference will take place on April 13 from 8:00am - 4:00pm at Bev Facey High School. Tickets are $45 per person or $80 for two. Those needing more information can call 780-464-4044.
