Edmonton workshop to help build joyful families

Edmonton parents with kids ages four and up are encouraged to add their name to the list of families taking part in a workshop set to explore the joy of being a mom or dad.

The session will give parents and caregivers an opportunity to discover the value of play and creativity in promoting good mental health. While they do, they will be meeting others who are in the same boat they are, and they’ll be encouraged to build a strong support network they can call on.

During the function, several guest speakers will address the group, and they will introduce a variety of topics. Light refreshments, including beverages, will be served, and parking at the venue will be free.

While the adults enjoy picking up some new skills and information, the event’s young guests will be able to make a craft, play games and meet the other kids. Stationery printers will be happy to craft activity sheets and other items that may go a long way towards keeping children entertained.

The Joyful Parent Workshop will be adding new items to the attending parents or guardian’s tool kits on September 23rd. It will start at 5:00 pm at 2023 111 Street in Northwest Edmonton. Admission will be by “donate what you can”, and the proceeds will be used to help cover the expenses of hosting the session.
