Edmonton event to get jump on tax season

An Edmonton workshop may help to make tax time less of a headache for those who attend.

Even if they are not working, it is highly advised that every Canadian prepare a tax return, and the Make Tax Time Pay class can make the process easier. The workshop is aimed at those who have a simple tax return, and it will be offered in the Civic Employees Room at the Stanley A. Milner branch of the Edmonton Public Library.

The activity, which will take place before tax season opens, is for families with a low to moderate income, and it will be available at no cost. It will not be suitable for those with a business income or who are self-employed, and it is also not intended for anyone with capital gains or losses, or an interest income that is greater than $1,000.

Filing taxes can be an important civic responsibility, and taking part in preparation class like this may make doing so a lot simpler.
