Special guest to stop by Edmonton nature event

The city of Edmonton enjoys a northern locale, and the animals that live around the city have adapted to its often cold climate. Budding naturalists who would like to discover how these creatures make the most of their chilly home can register now for a special nature event, and a fine feathered friend may even stop by for them to meet.

Beaverhill Bird Observatory will working with Nature Alberta’s Nature Kids and a group of volunteers from the University of Alberta to offer a hands on learning opportunity at the Rundle Park Family Centre. It will be about the animals who live near or above the Arctic Circle, and the owls that call Alberta home will also be included in the discussion.

Both kids and parents alike can enjoy viewing animals from the Arctic, and a little Northern Saw-whet owl will be on hand to meet the children. Once the presentation is over, the group will head outdoors for a nature walk, and the function is free. Being part of an outing like this can help youngsters to develop an interest in nature. Print shops can help organizers of events like this by provided printed guides and materials to be used on the day.

The Rundle Park Family Centre has reserved February 23rd for this nature activity. Parents have been asked to complete their registration at the door on the day.
