Edmonton welcomes return of plant swap

One of the joys of gardening is being able to share one's extra plants, and an Edmonton activity will offer this experience to its newbie and experienced green thumbs alike.

The Edmonton Horticultural Society will soon be giving the city’s gardeners a thrifty and fun way to score some new additions to their own collection. It will be on offer at 10746- 178 St NW, and the procedure for taking part has been released so that everyone will know what to do in advance.

Participants in the day will see the attendees receive one credit for each plant they bring. They can use their credits to exchange for the new plants of their choice. Once this portion of the day is over, the remaining stock will be sold. The popular garden tools table will be back, and local vendors have been invited to set up shop. Anyone who has gently used gardening tools can donate them, and the proceeds from their sale will be used by the Society to fund its projects.

The listing for the event points out that as the plants will have a local provenance they should do well in Edmonton gardens. Planting and growing guides, climate zone charts and other materials for a gardening-related function can be crafted by a brochure printing company.

The Edmonton Horticultural Society has scheduled this year's horticultural swap for May 24th. It will be open to the public from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm.
