Printing is a fine motor skill that can be a challenge for some children, and an Edmonton workshop series will give them help in developing their techniques.
An experienced pediatric occupational therapist will be the leader of a summer camp series that will introduce children in grades one to three to methods they can use to improve their printing and other fine motor skills. It will take a multisensory approach, and games and other activities will be used to make the learning fun.
The campers will develop their skills in areas such as instrument grasp, forming lower and uppercase letters and copying shapes. They will use the same tools they will at school, and to develop better hand to eye coordination and finger strength, each participant will receive a short summary of their strengths and areas where they need to develop so that they can continue their practice at home.
Kid-friendly workshops often include games, activity sheets and other handouts. These may be ordered from an area printing services company, along with promotional Pens and other items to give to each child.
The Creating Confident Printers Fine Motor Camp - Printing Basics is scheduled for May 28th, June 4th, June 11th and June 18th. They will all run from 10:00 am until 11:15 am at 6112 113 Avenue in Edmonton.
