Edmonton’s Telus World of science is about to undergo a major facelift, thanks to an injection of cash from the municipality.
The contribution to the institution will total $12 million, which is set to be used to start the process of improving and expanding the centre. It will be utilized for exhibits that will be housed there on a permanent basis, as well as brand new early childhood education facility. The galleries that contain displays dealing with Canada’s arctic region will also receive an update, as will the planetarium.
The plan is to upgrade it so that it is as cutting edge for today as it was when it was first built 30 years ago.
This will be the second expansion in five years, with the first one being funded by a smaller grant of $7 million back in 2012. The total cost for all the upgrades will come in at around $40 million, and it’s hoped that this will come from both the provincial government and the different municipalities in the surrounding area.
It is expected that the enhancements will be completed by 2017.
Part of an expansion to an institution such as this can be the purchase of new signage for the different exhibits. A Print company will be able to provide this, as well as any other materials that are needed to make the experience for visitors as great as it can be.Get a Free Quote for Print
