Autumn is harvest time for B.C.’s apple growers. A fundraiser will give Calgarians a chance to share in the bounty, and while they enjoy their fruit, they will be lending a helping hand to a local school.
Three different apple varieties will be include in the West Ridge School apple fundraising event, and they will be packed into Boxes containing either a single variety or a blend of two. The school will receive $9 from each crate sold, and this will be used to help meet the expenses it incurs when offering enhanced programming to its students.
The public can choose from Gala, Honey Crisp, and Ambrosia apples, and an ‘Okanagan Blend’ of two different types will also be on offer. The fruit will be shipped fresh from the orchard, and will be available for pickup at the school. The organizers are asking everyone who places an order to be sure to collect theirs on September 30, as they will not be held.

West Ridge School is currently accepting orders for its Apple Box Fundraiser, and they can be placed up until September 18. The price for each crate ranges from $28 to $35, and the cost will depend upon which variety is chosen.
