Calgary event celebrates native plants

The Alberta Native Plant Council works to raise awareness about the importance of native species, and it has a workshop on offer that will combine learning with networking.

The organization has set the date for its Annual Workshop – Grassroots Grow Deep: Local Action, Global Impact. It will celebrate projects of all sizes, whether they are a large reforestation or a simple plot in home garden, and there will be lots of learning opportunities available.

The day will be broken up into several sections, and each will feature its own set of subject matter experts. During the breaks and lunch, the delegates can network, eat and view the event exhibits, and they can also view artwork and other items up for bids in the auction. There will also be a book sale in aid of Alberta Plantwatch. The day will wrap up with an evening banquet, and a cash bar service will be available during both lunch and the evening meal.

Event organizers sometimes call upon a local printer to supply everything from promotional Pens and other swag to custom awards to present to recipients.

Saturday, May 2nd will see the Alberta Native Plant Council host its Annual Workshop – Grassroots Grow Deep: Local Action, Global Impact. It will be on offer at The Barracks, Wild Rose Brewery, 4580 Quesnay Wood Drive SW. The final date to register for the day is April 30th.
