New on-demand service in Calgary really delivers

An enterprising Calgarian has found a niche in the city that needed to be filled, and his efforts have proven to be a success.

Local entrepreneur David Lee and

one of his friends took a page from the on-demand transportation services that have been popping up, and set up a delivery service that works on the same principle. People who have an item to be picked up can give Lee a call and his business, Vaesto, will dispatch one of his independently contracted drivers. The charge for the service then shows up on the caller’s credit card.

The two businessmen developed an app that could be used in this situation, and after about three months, they came up with a service they felt would work. According to Mr. Lee, they have been able to attract several hundred clients. When a new business sets up, such as this, customized business Forms can be designed and printed to help with its day-to-day operations.

To use this delivery service, a person first needs to use the Vaesto app to create an account with PayPal or their credit card. This will be how they make their payments. When they have a job that needs to be done, the software sends out an alert to the nearest driver, and a charge shows up that takes into account both the mileage and the base fee.

The app can now be downloaded from the Google Play Store, the Apple App Store and also Blackberry App World. There is no charge to download the app.
