Glow: the Downtown Winter Light Festival is taking place for five days next month in Calgary.
Events will take place at several venues, but the three main hubs will be Olympic Plaza, Brookfield Plaza and Harley Hotchkiss Gardens, all three of which will be decorated with numerous light art installations with names such as Journey, Terrarium 2 and Ground Projection. Musical entertainment will be provided by artists such as Michael Bernard Fitzgerald, The Static Shift and Brad Saunders.
The Make Fashion fashion show will be held at Brookfield Plaza on February 15. It features wearable hi-tech garments designed by STEAM students; tickets are $40 for runway seats or $15 for standing room. There will also be DJs and photo booths at the plaza.
February 14 will feature a special Valentine’s Day Love Lights festival at Olympic Plaza.
Olympic Plaza will also be the venue for the BussBus Nightlight Dance Party. Other planned activities at the plaza include a family skating party to be held on February 18.
