Calgary workshop to explore smoking meat

Smoking meat both adds flavour and preserves it for the future, and an upcoming class will introduce the practice to those who call Calgary home.

The Brisket Smoking Workshop will be a hands-on way for area grillers to learn how to prepare a juicy and flavourful piece of beef. It will be held at Prairie Dog Brewing, and Knifewear will also be lending its expertise to the occasion. Everyone will get to take home a sample of their efforts, as well as a new knife.

The attendees will be taught how to prepare their brisket for smoking, and they will be introduced to Clifford the Big Red Smoker. Wrapping, slicing and serving will all be covered too, and the group will also pick up lots of new knife skills. The runtime for the function is at least five hours.

A culinary class like this one can be both educational and fun for participants. Recipe cards, aprons, chef’s hats, oven mitts and other gear branded with a company’s Logo Design can be crafted by a local printer.

The Brisket Smoking Workshop will provide the chance for Calgary grillers to brush up on their brisket prep skills on November 19th. It will run from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at Prairie Dog Brewing. At the time of writing, tickets are available, but in the event that it sells out, a waitlist is also available.
