Calgary rug sale to feature fair-trade goods

A handmade rug can be the final touch when it comes to a room’s decor, and a Calgary event will help local residents find one that is perfect for their home or office.

The rugs that will be on offer at the Calgary Fair Trade Rug Event will all be ethically sourced, and the styles will include Tribal, Persian and Bokhara. Both contemporary and traditional versions will be in the mix, and many sizes and shapes will be available.

Each of the rugs that will be on display will have been made by adults who are paid a living wage for their work, and they will all be crafted by hand. Bunyaad, the group that has produced the rugs, is a member of the Fair Trade Association, so the shoppers can feel confident that they will be purchasing items that are well made by makers who take pride in their efforts.

A flyer printing company will be able to help market an event like this. It can also prepare leaflets to distribute to each customer that provide more information about the items it has on offer and their origin.

The Villages Calgary, which is located at 220 Crowchild Trail Northwest, will be running the Calgary Fair Trade Rug Event from September 9th until October 2nd. More information and a chance to view the items on offer can be found online.
