A call has been put out seeking assistance from local people for a program that will ensure everyone in Calgary’s Deer Run neighbourhood has a safe and happy Halloween.
The Deer Run Community Association is on the hunt for volunteers for its Halloween Patrol initiative. The shift will be approximately three hours long, but it may be extended if needed.
Those who sign up will be asked to drive around the neighbourhood to ensure a safe Halloween night, and before they head out, they will be invited to muster at 2223 146 Avenue Southeast. There, they can enjoy each other’s company while they are served a supper of pizza and pop. Each patroller will be assigned a walkie talkie as well as a map, and they will attach signage that indicates they are on patrol. Once all the trick-or-treaters have made it safely home, the patrollers will return for some beverages and a chance to mingle some more.
Organizers of community initiatives may find themselves in need of a range of printing services. These can be sourced from a local Print shop, which will have a wide selection of options to choose from.
Anyone who would like to be part of the Deer Run Community Association’s Halloween Patrol is asked to contact Rob at rob@deerruncalgary.com. The muster time is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
